2 decks. Size : this is our largest stay - sleeps up to 6 people. One of the rooms is an open office space with stackable twin beds making room for 2 more people  in addition to the queen & king rooms. Location : 200m from the car park. Amenities : 2 fireplaces, spectacular views, dusk light system, electricity, wifi. Its unique character stands out by blending the old with the new. You'll experience beauty of the original villa that served as a farm-house for decades, in contrast to the modern extension & its striking design. The name Pohutukawa comes from one of our unique native trees. The Pohutukawa tree is an evergreen beauty that blooms its bright red flowers in December. For this reason, we also refer to it as the New Zealand Christmas Tree. It is associated with the Maori legend Tawhaki - symbolizing the strength & beauty of New Zealand’s landscape.

Amenities : scenic views, indoor & outdoor bathtubs, log burner, BBQ, electricity. The name Ngaio translates to "reflections on the water". It was inspired by the incredible ocean views you can see from this cottage. Its unique character stands out with its teak paneled feature wall & stunning wood statements. This type of wood was traditionally used for making tools & weapons by Māori, our indigenous culture.

Wharangi

Meet Ngaio's twin - Wharangi. Layout : 2 bedrooms with queen beds, full bathroom, mini kitchen (no oven), living room & front deck. Size : medium size stay - sleeps up to 4 people. Location : 100m from the car park. Amenities : log burner, indoor bathtub, close to the creek, BBQ, electricity. This cottage stands out with its unique teak paneled feature wall & stunning wood statements. It is located a little up the hill - though it has no sea view, it is near the beautiful creek and our naive ecosystems. Wharangi is named after a native New Zealand leaf that translates to, “one side of one leave”. Our indigenous Māori culture use its healing properties for medicinal purposes such as for skin-treatments & wound healing. It is also valued for its role in native ecosystems, habitat and food for insects & birds.

Kawakawa
Cottage

Layout : 1 bedroom, 1 loft, shower, compost toilet, kitchen, sofa & outdoor deck. Size : tiny house on wheels - sleeps up to 4 people. Location : off the main entrance road. Amenities : BBQ, electricity. This cottage stands out with it's stunning loft, making it the perfect stay for those who want to experience tiny home living while having enough room for up to 4 people to sleep.  Kawakawa is named after a NZ pepper tree. The name means, “the bitter taste of the leaves”. This leaf is used for ceremonies, including removing tapu. It is also used for medicinal purposes and is known for it's healing & restorative properties.  It originates from the North Island of NZ.

Transport

If you would rather relax and enjoy the views, the cost of transport on the island is included, just let us know your arrival time and one of our team members will meet you at reception in our farm buggy. A fun way to start your stay on Pepin Island!

Access : 30 minute scenic walk around the inlet side of the island, drive your own 4WD vehicle on our gravel roads, or book a 4WD ride with us. Amenities : outdoor hot water bathtub, deck, breathtaking views, secluded beach (5 minute walk), complimentary kayaks, BBQ, fresh spring drinking water. This is for the adventurous - those who like to put their hiking shoes on, trek in the mud and take the scenic route up to their hut farm stay. With no electricity or wifi, it is truly a unique experience to disconnect from this digital world and connect back to nature.

Layout : 1 double bed, kitchenette, powered chilly bin, gas cooker, crockery, utensils, outdoor hot water shower, and outdoor toilet. Power : solar powered. Size : studio - sleeps up to 2 people (adults only). Amenities : outdoor hot water bath on a hilltop with panoramic ocean views, balcony, BBQ, fresh spring drinking water, island summit viewpoint easy access - 1 hour walk uphill from hut. Location : 3km from car park. Access : 1 - 2 hour medium-hard walk around the Tasman Bay side of Pepin Island. This is for the adventurous - those who like to put their hiking shoes on, trek in the mud and take the long scenic route to their farm stay. With no electricity or wifi, it is a beautiful opportunity to step away from the fast-paced world and

reconnect with nature.

Layout : 1 queen bed, kitchenette, chilly bin (not powered - Ice packs supplied), gas cooker, outdoor hot water shower, outdoor toilet. Power : solar powered.  Size : studio - sleeps up to 2 people. Amenities : outdoor hot water bathtub, deck, breathtaking views, native bush walking track & fishing rock (10 min walk), fresh spring drinking water. Location :  2.3km from the car park. Access : 40 - 60 minute medium level walk to your hut, with one steep climb over the saddle of the island. This is for the adventurous - those who like to put their hiking shoes on, trek in the mud and take the scenic route up to their hut farm stay. With no electricity or wifi, you'll be able to truly step away from the modern world and immerse yourself in the beauty of the natural world.
